Update on Maddie's arm and her teachers note

I took her to the pediatric orthopedic yesterday to get Maddie her two week (since her fall) X-ray done to see how it is healing. We learned that it is healing nicely and maybe in two weeks she can be completely sling free. Until then, when she is at home she can do without a sling. She is allowed to move it around and lift small items. When she goes out of the house to school or anything else, it has to be protected in the sling. She's still not allowed to do anything other than walk or sit pretty much. At this point, she doesn't care. She's just too excited that she doesn't have to wear a sling at home. Haha.

Yesterday, I caught her running in the house. Since she couldn't follow rules, I had her place her arm back in the sling. She wasn't too happy, but I think she learned her lesson.

It was an exciting day for her. She came home and was so excited that she had a note from her teacher for me. She had a reading test yesterday to see where she is reading from last year. Kindergarten levels A and B. When you leave first grade, you have to move up six letters. This is the biggest jump for grade levels.

Maddie's note said:

She has already moved up three levels within a month of her being in first grade. To say that we were very excited and so proud would be an understatement. All of her reading, sight words, and asking questions have paid off. She loves reading and it's starting to show. She couldn't wait to show daddy when we got home from her appointment. "Mom!  Not every one got a letter!!!"  Ha. I told her it's because she moved up so far in levels in a small amount of time and that her reading all of the time and her sight words are really helping her.

We had one excited little girl yesterday.

Until next time....  Have fun, be safe, and enjoy life.
