Gettysburg, PA trip

We finally made it to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum. We stopped by one day after we camped up there one weekend. We wanted to come back up for a day trip and see what all there was to learn.

Pam and Susan came to visit us and gave us the perfect opportunity to drive up for the day and visit the museum and historical sites.

We had a lot of fun walking through and reading so many interesting facts, watching videos, and seeing many artifacts from that time. Maddie had a lot of fun seeing all of the different swords, clothing, and other articles. Of course, she loved being able to get pictures in front of everything. One really cool thing happened to Maddie. There happened to be soldiers out at one of our stops on the audio tour and they were showing kids things and were giving actual lead bullets from the war out as a souvenir For stopping by. Maddie was extremely excited about it and couldn't wait to show the rest of our party.

Jackson did well until the end of the trip. He decided not to nap the entire time we walked around or watched videos. That resulted in meltdowns on our audio tour and dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't get to finish our audio tour. I think we were all sort of bummed because it was so pretty to be outdoors and see the actual locations. That just means we will have to make another trip up there to finish it up.

Dinner was really good. We stopped in at Gettysburg Eddie's. It is a restaurant based off of a baseball hall of famer. The food was delicious. And it was a good way to end our day.

Both kiddos passed out on the way home. I think we wore the ladies out as well.  I know Jeff and I didn't fight bed time that night.

Overall, it was a good day. I think Maddie learned a few things here and there. We got to check another thing off of our bucket list for Maryland. And last, but not least, we got to have fun with some family friends.

Enjoy the photos that I took of our day.

Until next time.... Have fun, be safe, and enjoy life.
